Inch of Dark is a hard rock band from Austin,TX. Formed in 2010 in Colorado,
IOD moved to Austin in 2012. As a truly independent band, I.O.D. freely writes
the music they want to write. Their mainstream yet uncompromised original
sound appeals to both the casual listener and to those with a more advanced ear
looking for little gems of intricacy. To date I.O.D. has released the single “Soul
Shifter” in May of 2019, The EP, Solace in 2015 and debut EP Chapter No. 1 in
2011 and just released the new single Emulsifier on 3/3/23. Produced and mixed
by Kfir Gov at Evil Snail studios in Austin, TX the new single is a journey of heavy
grooves, melodic and heavy vocals to a mosh pit breakdown leading to the final
ending of primal rage.
After a hiatus from 2016-2018 the band reformed with a new outlook and stage
show. Adam Donovan joined the band taking on bass duties but it was also his
lighting tech experience from tours with bands KMFDM and Chant that has
elevated the Inch of Dark show. A full programed lightshow was built and added
to the stage show that IOD now performs with adding a level of entertainment
experience that is unexpected for a local rock band.
