Colombo-American band HELL9 was originally formed in 2011 by exiting members of the Colombian band Unauthorized.
Racso Zeraus (guitar), Xavier Gonzalez (vocals), and Javier Leon (bass guitar) with the addition of Diego Torres (drums) started their foundation on Melodic Death and Groove metal.
They started as Code X and released an album called “Alternate Reality” in May 25th, 2013.
In 2019, after the sudden passing of drummer Diego Torres the band changed name to HELL9 and started focusing on a heavier and darker sound to evolve towards a Dark Blackened Death Metal style.
Vitaliy Minlayo entered to play the drums in replacement of Diego Torres for the new album recordings in 2019.
Its new production called “Phoenix Reborn” was released in December 4th, 2022. The album was produced by Racso Zeraus, co-produced and mixed by German Villacorta and mastered by Maor Appelbaum in Los Angeles, CA.
