40 Below Summer have announced a new lineup move, welcoming guitarist Anthony Bordonaro to the band following the departure of longtime member David Mondragon.
Mondragon had handled lead guitar duties for the New Jersey nü-metal veterans since 2014. His exit comes several months after the band released ‘Untethered’, their first new studio album in more than a decade.
In a statement shared on social media, the band explained that Mondragon stepped away due to scheduling demands and offered their support moving forward.
“A few months back David told us he could no longer continue on with us due to his extremely busy schedule. The man does a lot, and we wish him nothing but the best.”
They also credited bassist Robi for helping recruit Bordonaro.
“Our bassist said I got the guy and boy did he ever!”
Bordonaro, whose past work includes Redefined and Radio Royalty, will make his live debut with the band at the following shows:
- 05/16 Manchester, NH – Jewel Music Venue
- 06/20 Hamden, CT – Space Ballroom
- 08/14 Joliet, IL – The Forge
- 08/15 Flint, MI – The Machine Shop (feat. Primer 55)
- 09/18 Louisville, KY – Louder Than Life
With fresh blood in the lineup and touring dates ahead, 40 Below Summer appear set to continue the momentum built by their recent comeback record.
