70,000 Tons Of Metal Organizers Address Misconduct Allegations Involving Skeletal Remains Vocalist

Organizers behind the annual 70000 Tons of Metal cruise have issued a public response after allegations of inappropriate conduct surfaced during this year’s voyage. Claims circulated online this month accusing Chris Monroy, vocalist/guitarist for Skeletal Remains, of repeatedly touching women without consent while aboard the ship.

According to reports shared online, onboard security were alerted to the situation and intervened. Monroy was subsequently said to have been barred from the cruise following the incident. Neither the band nor Monroy have publicly commented on the accusations, and commenting has been restricted on some of their social media platforms amid the ongoing discussion.

Public reaction from individuals associated with the cruise community followed shortly after. Kim Dylla, formerly of GWAR and involved behind the scenes with the event in various roles since 2013, addressed the matter on social media.

Meanwhile, Devin Swank of Sanguisugabogg also publicly condemned the reported behavior in his own post.

When contacted by MetalSucks, organizers provided the following statement:

“Our security team was made aware of a situation during the cruise and promptly interviewed all parties involved to defuse the matter. After reviewing the information available at the time, no further action was warranted.

‘70000TONS OF METAL‘ is a very friendly and inclusive environment, and we take the safety and well-being of our guests, crew, and artists extremely seriously. We also have a clear code of conduct that we hold everyone on board to, including guests and musicians alike.”

As of now, no additional official updates have been issued by the parties involved.
