A Perfect Circle Premiere New Single “Starless” Ahead Of First European/UK Tour In Nearly Eight Years

Multi-platinum alternative metal outfit A Perfect Circle have officially premiered their brand new single “Starless” ahead of the launch of their upcoming European and UK tour.

The release marks the band’s first new music in some time and arrives just before their first extensive run through Europe and the UK in roughly eight years. The tour will also feature several appearances alongside Puscifer, with vocalist Maynard James Keenan set to pull double duty on select dates.

Keenan shared his excitement about finally bringing the new material to the stage.

“Absolutely chuffed to debut this new track on stage in the U.K.. Of course I’m excited to release the recordings but our songs always take on an expanded personality once we start playing them live.”

Recording sessions for “Starless” took place at guitarist/vocalist Billy Howerdel’s Lankershim Ranch Studio in Studio City, California. Howerdel also handled production duties, while acclaimed producer/mixer Matty Green worked on the mix. Veteran drummer Josh Freese — now once again performing with Nine Inch Nails — contributed drums on the studio version of the track.

Howerdel described the songwriting process for the new single as unusually natural and immediate.

“Some songs get kicked around and massaged for years. But once in a while, one takes shape quickly, as if it had been there all along.”

A limited 7” pressing of “Starless” has also been made available through Revolver.

The upcoming tour will see the band hit major festivals and headline venues throughout Europe before later teaming with Puscifer for dates across Latin America, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, and Hawaii.
