A Skylit Drive have officially entered a new chapter, announcing their signing with Vaux Records while simultaneously unveiling a music video for their new single “Half Hearted.”
The post-hardcore veterans had been teasing an announcement across social media for roughly a week before confirming their new label home. Vaux Records was founded by Craig Ericson, the former founder of Rise Records, and the partnership will usher in the band’s next era.
That era will include a new full-length album titled ‘Ashes’, which is currently in production with an expected early 2027 release. Recording sessions are being handled by Ryan Furlott and Joey Sturgis, whose production credits include work with Asking Alexandria and The Devil Wears Prada.
For vocalist Micheal Jagmin, “Half Hearted” quickly became one of the defining pieces of the forthcoming record, while also opening up a different creative direction for the band.
“‘Half Hearted’ quickly became a defining song for this album. It marked the beginning of working with co-writer and producer Ryan Furlott and opened the door to a side of ourselves musically that we hadn’t explored before. More than anything, writing it was deeply cathartic. It became one of those rare moments where creating music felt less like writing a song and more like confronting something within ourselves—and putting it into words.”
The band sees the move to Vaux Records as a natural progression as they prepare to introduce ‘Ashes’ and the music that follows it.
“Signing with Vaux Records feels like the perfect next step for us. Craig understands our history, our vision, and where we’re headed. ‘Half Hearted’ is the beginning of an exciting new era, and we can’t wait for everyone to hear what’s coming next.”
Ericson is equally enthusiastic about bringing A Skylit Drive into the Vaux Records roster, pointing to the band’s established place within alternative music.
