Paris Campbell Grace—internet comedian, musician, and spouse of Against Me! vocalist/guitarist Laura Jane Grace—has gone public with a series of allegations of abuse, citing emotional manipulation, unsafe living conditions, and verbal mistreatment. The accusations were made via Instagram Stories and Threads posts shared on July 17th, coinciding with the release of Laura Jane Grace’s new solo album, Adventure Club.
In these posts, Paris describes their home life with Laura as volatile and emotionally exhausting. They claim to have locked themselves in their office for safety, stating they have no personal support system and feel trapped in the relationship due to Laura’s larger public platform.
One of Paris’s posts reads:
“I am currently locked in my office with all my belongings, and actually really scared… I don’t know what to do here, and I have nobody to turn to.”
Laura Jane Grace indirectly responded via social media with a post that read simply:
“I feel unsafe.”
Paris alleges that their past as a sex worker—something they confided in Laura early on in their relationship—has been repeatedly used against them. They describe incidents where Laura allegedly searched for non-consensual leaked content to emotionally hurt them and accused them of plotting to exploit her financially.
“Our relationship has become a revolving door of my wife yelling at me while I cry… The only tenderness I’m shown is ‘wanna fuck?’ I feel like an object.”
Paris has shared screenshots of text conversations where they ask Laura to leave the home so they can safely spend time with their child. In response, Laura Jane Grace accused Paris of rarely caring for the child, adding:
“Last time I left and filed for divorce you went and stayed at a fancy AirBnB in Indiana. I have a kid that lives in this house too. You leave.”
