Alice In Chains have officially unveiled a 30th anniversary edition of their iconic live album ‘Unplugged.’
Originally recorded for MTV Unplugged on April 10, 1996, the legendary performance was released later that year in July and remains one of the most celebrated live recordings in rock history. The album’s enduring popularity was further recognized when it achieved 2x Platinum certification in 2022.
To commemorate the milestone anniversary, Alice In Chains will release new vinyl and CD editions of ‘Unplugged,’ with a tentative release date of September 25th.
Fans can now place pre-orders through the band’s official store, which is offering an exclusive Solar Flare-colored vinyl pressing alongside a standard black vinyl edition.
Additional exclusive variants are also available through select retailers. A Ruby Red vinyl pressing is being offered through Revolver and Brooklyn Vegan, while other collectible editions have been revealed as part of the anniversary campaign.
‘Unplugged’ captured one of the most memorable performances of Alice In Chains’ career, featuring classic songs performed in an intimate acoustic setting. The release remains a fan favorite and is widely regarded as one of the standout entries in MTV’s acclaimed Unplugged series.
Thirty years later, the album continues to resonate with listeners, making this anniversary reissue a notable release for both longtime fans and vinyl collectors.
