A nostalgic crossover moment hit West Hollywood on April 19th, as Alien Ant Farm were joined onstage by actor and musician Corey Feldman for a live performance of their signature cover of Michael Jackson’s “Smooth Criminal.”
The moment took place at The Rainbow Bar & Grill, where Feldman appeared during Alien Ant Farm’s set to help deliver the 1988 Michael Jackson classic. Feldman, who has long spoken about his personal connection to the late pop icon, leaned into the moment with a full visual tribute—dressing in a style inspired by Jackson’s iconic “Smooth Criminal” era and incorporating choreographed dance elements throughout the performance.
Alien Ant Farm famously reimagined “Smooth Criminal” for their 2001 album ANThology, turning it into a 2x platinum modern rock staple and one of the defining covers of its era.
Frontman Dryden Mitchell also engaged the crowd before the performance, even having Feldman sign a Gremlins shirt he was wearing, referencing Feldman’s role in the 1984 cult film.
The evening’s lineup extended beyond Alien Ant Farm, with the show headlined by L.A. Guns and also featuring sets from Pentagram, Armored Saint, and Boy Hits Car.
