Masked industrial nü-metal band Amerakin Overdose have premiered the official music video for their new single “Point Of No Return”, produced by Jonny Santos of Spineshank. The clip, shot by Packard of Bausik Film Co., was co-produced, edited, and mixed by Nikolas Roy Quemtri.
Vocalist Cody Perez shared the following on the release, which debuted on April 25th:
“Our brand new single and video ‘Point Of No Return’ is out now! Please check it out! We put a lot of work into this. Blast it loud and share the hell out of it! Huge thanks to Jonny Santos of Spineshank for producing it, Nikolas Roy Quemtri for co-producing and mixing it, and Packard of Bausik Film Co. for capturing such amazing shots. I swear this is our best video yet. Thanks also to Justin’s neighbors for letting us use their loft, and to our incredible actors Alex Brickell and Brassy Brass Hole. Big shoutout to my bandmates—this was a group effort all the way. Go watch it!”

I see all the comments comparing them to mushroomhead and Slipknot just based on their look, but their sound is essentially a culmination of all of the metal music that hit between 98 and 2005, Slipknot, mushroomhead, mudvayne, ill nino, spineshank, powerman 5000, etc … Not bad music, but it’s been done. Kind of like watching all of the movies from the ’80s that they try to remake now. I’d be more interested to hear their evolution 10 years from now.
I’m not hating on them, just my honest critique. With that being said, Congratulations are in order. Keep making those moves, boys!
