Masked industrial nü-metal outfit Amerakin Overdose have unveiled their latest single, “Oxygen,” pairing the track with a newly released music video directed by Drumwell Media.
The song continues the band’s recent creative partnership with Spineshank vocalist Jonny Santos, who once again teamed up with the group behind the scenes. Santos served as co-producer on the track alongside Nikolas Roy Quemtri, helping shape the latest chapter in Amerakin Overdose’s evolving sound.
Speaking about the inspiration behind the song, vocalist Cody Perez explained that “Oxygen” explores the destructive nature of unhealthy dependence and the difficulty of escaping toxic situations.
“‘Oxygen’ is about the dangerous illusion of dependency—the belief that you can’t survive without someone or something, even when it’s destroying you. It’s about mistaking poison for air, and the struggle to break free from the things we cling to for survival.”
The release arrives as Amerakin Overdose prepare for a series of summer performances across the United States, including festival appearances and headlining dates.
