AMIGO THE DEVIL Loses Home, Beloved Dog, Art, and Archives in Devastating House Fire

Tragedy has struck Amigo The Devil, the murderfolk artist known for his haunting blend of dark Americana and heavy lyrical storytelling. His home was recently destroyed in a catastrophic fire, taking with it not only the roof over his head, but decades’ worth of his life’s work — including unreleased music, handwritten lyrics, and cherished personal artifacts.

A frequent collaborator and performer within the rock and metal community, Amigo The Devil has shared stages with numerous metal acts and most recently performed at Milwaukee Metal Fest last month. His cross-genre appeal and emotionally raw performances have earned him a devoted fanbase across musical boundaries.

He broke the heartbreaking news via Instagram, writing:

“Everything is gone. I have both too many and too few words right now. I’m happy and grateful for all of our lives. I’m devastated for anyone who put love, effort and kindness into making this home what it was.”

He revealed that all of his original artwork, test pressings, lyric books, and hard drives — including backups — were destroyed:

“Dozens of hand written lyric books filled with songs that’ll never be, hard drives with thousands of demos throughout a lifetime and the backups of them, test pressings… the whole journey… gone.”

Making the tragedy even more painful was the loss of Kobe, the beloved family dog fans may have met on recent tours:

“I’m horrified for the irreplaceable loss that Abbey is going through of her best friend, the best little dog that so many of you met this last tour, Kobe.”

He also described the emotional toll of losing family heirlooms and keepsakes, and how the physical representations of a life lived are now only memories:

“A lifetime of collecting is gone. Just, a museum level of pieces that I feel I’ve failed history with… This was genuinely a night without mercy.”

Despite the loss, Kiranos says he is doing his best to stay positive and find some humor in the devastation:

“We’re trying to stay hopeful. I’m trying to forget I ever wrote a song called ‘It’s All Gone’ but at the same time the little jokes help here and there.”
