Finnish progressive metal veterans Amorphis have just launched “Light And Shadow”, the first single from their forthcoming album Borderland. That 15th full-length studio release is officially set to arrive on September 26th through Reigning Phoenix Music.
The band described the track as a thematic reflection of the album title, symbolizing “the counter-play between two parties close to each other.”
Keyboardist Santeri Kallio, who penned the track, commented on its creation:
“I threw my brain into the closet and went with the flow – without stressing about opinions. I didn’t want to repeat the old nor copy what we’ve already done before. When I heard Tomi’s final vocal parts, I realised that ‘Light And Shadow’ would be the perfect introduction to our new album!”
