Arch Enemy’s Angela Gossow Denies Reunion Rumors: “It’s Not Me!”

Speculation surrounding the identity of the next vocalist for Arch Enemy continues to swirl — but one rumored return has already been shut down.

Last week, fans began to wonder if former frontwoman Angela Gossow might be rejoining the Swedish melodic death metal outfit she led for years. Although she stepped down from the microphone in 2014, she has remained closely tied to the band behind the scenes as their manager. Her participation in the group’s recent social media blackout only intensified online speculation about a potential comeback.

A second teaser video tied to the band’s new singer surfaced today (February 16th), prompting Gossow to address the chatter directly. Responding in the comments, she clarified her role and dismissed the rumors outright:

“It’s not ME! But thank you for all the love! I am really excited to be involved in this new chapter as the manager This is gonna CRUSH!”

The vocalist position opened following the departure of Alissa White-Gluz last year. Meanwhile, original singer Johan Liiva has also publicly ruled out returning, narrowing the field of realistic candidates.

As speculation continues, fans have floated several possible replacements — including Lauren Hart of Only Human and Vicky Psarakis of Sicksense and formerly The Agonist — though no official announcement has been made regarding the band’s next permanent frontperson.

For now, Gossow’s message makes it clear that while she remains deeply involved with the group’s operations, her return to the stage is not part of the plan.
