Angine de Poitrine had a major night at the 2026 Polaris Music Prize ceremony, taking home the prestigious Canadian music award on September 22 at Massey Hall in Toronto, ON.
The masked psych rock duo won the Polaris Music Prize for their latest release ‘Vol. II’. The annual award recognizes what a jury selects as the best Canadian album of the year and comes with a $50,000 CAD prize.
‘Vol. II’ emerged ahead of releases from Peaches, Tanya Tagaq, Aquakultre, Begonia, and several other finalists.
Angine de Poitrine also picked up another $10,000 CAD after their track “Fabienk” was selected for the Polaris Song Prize. The song was competing against tracks from PUP, Charlotte Cornfield, and others.
The duo were on hand for the ceremony and took the stage at Massey Hall to perform “Fabienk”. Footage of the performance is now available below.
