Christian Olde Wolbers, the former Fear Factory bassist and vocalist, is making serious strides with his new venture, Angst Fabrik. The project, whose working name translates from German to “fear factory,” appears poised to channel some of the industrial metal intensity that defined Wolbers’ past work.
According to a recent post from the project on August 26th, writing is already underway, with fourteen tracks in development. Drum tracking for the debut album is set to begin in October, though the drummer for the sessions has yet to be revealed.
Fans hoping for a full Fear Factory reunion should temper expectations, as vocalist Burton C. Bell seems to be keeping his distance from the new project. In addition to Angst Fabrik, Wolbers is reportedly working on a separate supergroup featuring members of Korn and Sepultura, signaling an active and ambitious return to the metal scene.
