Armored Saint Premiere “Hit A Moonshot” Video From New Album

Veteran heavy metal force Armored Saint have released their new single “Hit A Moonshot”, arriving alongside an official music video.

The clip was directed by David Brodsky, who previously worked with the band on their earlier single “Close To The Bone”. Both songs will appear on Armored Saint’s upcoming ninth studio album ‘Emotion Factory Reset’, due out May 22 through Metal Blade Records.

Frontman John Bush explained that the song centers around people who always seem to find success regardless of the odds.

“It’s like you knocked something out of the park. I use a lot of sports analogies because I love sports.”

“‘Hit A Moonshot’ is inspired by the people who keep landing on their feet. Like, no matter what the fuck this person does… Some people just get lucky.”

“There are other people who are so good or talented or creative, and they struggle forever. I don’t think life is balanced all the time, and I don’t think it’s fair.”

Bush also praised the track’s musical direction.

“It has a ferocious riff, cool tempo changes, scorching leads, huge chorus with lots of backing vocals.”

“We love Queen and The Sweet! … Once again, it sounds just like Armored Saint.”

Bassist Joey Vera said the opening riff traces back to ideas he first had as a teenager in Los Angeles.

“The intro riff is an echo of a memory from age 17 when I was in a garage band in Los Angeles.”

“I added a half-time feel to the chorus to steer the arrangement away from predictability. It feels like classic Saint to me.”

Guitarist Jeff Duncan added that the song reflects the modern identity of the band.

“I think the song defines what Armored Saint sounds like now.”

“It’s simple, just good guitars plugged into a good amp and let it rip.”

With ‘Emotion Factory Reset’ arriving next month, the band continue to show why they remain one of heavy metal’s most dependable longtime acts.
