    AS I LAY DYING Sign with New Management Amid Fallout and Controversy

    Despite a turbulent year marred by internal collapse and public controversy, Tim Lambesis is pressing forward with yet another resurrection of As I Lay Dying.

    Earlier this month, FM Music Management—home to metal icons like Testament, Exodus, and Nonpoint—announced they had signed As I Lay Dying to their roster. While no new lineup has been revealed as of press time, the announcement confirms Lambesis’s intent to carry the band forward in some form, even after the group’s latest and most dramatic implosion.

    The metalcore veterans have been in freefall since late 2024, when every remaining member walked away from the band. Each issued separate statements, cryptic but unified in tone, citing internal issues they could no longer overlook. While specifics were initially scarce, the situation escalated quickly in the public eye.

    A series of leaked home security videos soon surfaced, showing Lambesis in an erratic and highly agitated state—yelling, hitting himself, and engaging in explosive arguments with his estranged wife, Dany. Lambesis later responded with a public statement alleging verbal and physical abuse on her part, claiming the footage was leaked in retaliation for him serving divorce papers. He described his behavior in the videos as “anxiety-filled reactions” during periods of extreme stress.

    In January, Lambesis appeared in a podcast interview attempting to clarify his perspective on the band’s dissolution and his personal mental health struggles. But just two days later, more disturbing footage leaked—this time appearing to show him acting aggressively toward his dog, reigniting online backlash and casting further doubt over his public redemption arc.

    Then in April, former As I Lay Dying guitarist Ken Susi broke his silence on the BREWTALLY Speaking Podcast, providing his account of the band’s 2024 breakdown. Susi directly challenged Lambesis’s previous claims, offering a detailed and unflinching view of the behavior that allegedly drove the band apart.

    All of this comes after As I Lay Dying had already staged a high-profile comeback once before. Lambesis was famously sentenced to prison in 2014 after pleading guilty to attempting to hire a hitman—who turned out to be an undercover cop—to murder his then-wife. He served nearly two years before being paroled in 2016.

    Following his release, the band shocked fans by reuniting with their classic lineup and releasing new material. For a time, it appeared that Lambesis had managed to turn things around, but over the next few years, cracks began to show. One by one, longtime members exited, until only Lambesis and guitarist Phil Sgrosso remained—an alliance that ultimately dissolved as well by the end of 2024.

    Now, with no confirmed bandmates and a long shadow cast over his legacy, Lambesis is once again attempting to revive the band he founded. Whether the metalcore community is ready—or willing—to accept another chapter in the saga of As I Lay Dying remains to be seen.

        Mike Barrett Look you do what you do but for many of us who have given up on this band over years the personal shit matters. I can’t justify supporting a band (which is basically just Tim), buying T’s, records, attending shows, etc because of the shit he’s done. To me he had plenty of opportunities to fix his act after the “reunion” & has since proven he can’t. That’s not just “him having problems” that’s a pattern & one that continues to persist. I’m glad Nick & the others jetted while they could because even they could see just how bad the situation was (that says ALOT). This band isn’t a band anymore. It’s a corporate plant band that for some of us will never have the same luster as it used to.

      I know his past. But as I lay dying was one of those bands from my teens growing up was just one of my favorites. But his vocals I couldn’t part ways with. His voice is amazing.
