    AS I LAY DYING Frontman Tim Lambesis Subject of New ‘True Story’ Crime Podcast Episode by Ray William Johnson

    Comedian and viral YouTube star Ray William Johnson (18.4 million subscribers) has been diving into true crime and pop culture on his Ray William Johnson: True Story Podcast. In a recent episode titled This Christian Singer Hired An Assassin – The Tim Lambesis / As I Lay Dying Story, Johnson explores the dramatic rise and fall of Tim Lambesis, the frontman of the former Christian metalcore band As I Lay Dying.

    The eight-minute episode adopts a comic book-style approach, quickly covering Lambesis’s early success as a major figure in Christian hardcore music, his pivot to bodybuilding, struggles with steroid abuse and drug use, and the shocking 2013 arrest for attempting to hire a hitman to kill his wife. Johnson delivers a concise yet impactful overview of the case and Lambesis’s prison sentence.

    What the episode leaves out, but remains equally significant, is the turbulent fallout after Lambesis’s release. This includes his public meltdowns caught on video, animal cruelty allegations, fan backlash with online petitions, and the entire As I Lay Dying lineup quitting—leaving Lambesis as the sole member.

          Christian Gonzalez was a product of it’s time. I didn’t really enjoy watching it that much but it was convenient for understanding the growing internet meme culture and “news” at the time. Basically, if new jokes started circulating, Ray Wlliam Johndon provided a way to explain it. But I never thought he was very funny.

        Brittany Lynn Lutz ok. You must be talking about someone else. That is the lead singer of AILD who tried to have his wife whacked and video of him going nuts on his new chick… Besides that. I’ve been listening to the band since way back and have watched documentaries on the band. He put himself in those “terrible conditions” if that face makes you smile. You need to do some research on mr tim 🤣

      I loved all three songs he released for his side project Pyrithion cuz it was Heavy and Dark.

      And his AILD and ADM stuff is good it’s just not my specific taste of metal.

      I’m pretty sure he just uses a Wikipedia article for his information. I watched the video and he didn’t really unveil anything that we don’t already know. He also kind of portrayed Tim as this steroid induced raging maniac which isn’t really true in 2025.
