Former Bad Wolves frontman Tommy Vext has offered a candid update on the state of the 3x platinum-certified alternative metal band, claiming the group is once again overhauling its lineup.
Speculation about the band’s future began back in May, when guitarist/vocalist Doc Coyle and bassist/vocalist Kyle Konkiel announced their departures. Soon after, vocalist Daniel “DL” Laskiewicz also appeared to exit, later joining Falling In Reverse as their new bassist/vocalist.
During this shake-up, returning guitarist Chris Cain was announced as Coyle’s replacement, while bassist Kevin Creekman—known for his work with Payton Perish, Tommy Vext, and others—stepped in for Konkiel.
Since parting ways with the band in 2021, Vext’s relationship with Bad Wolves has been publicly rocky, involving dueling lawsuits and a settlement. In 2024, new legal disputes emerged, with the band accusing Vext of violating a non-disparagement clause from that agreement.
In March of this year, Vext cryptically hinted at a major return, posting on social media: “Headed to LA next to record 15 songs. About to be a part of the craziest comeback story in the industry’s history.”
Fast forward to last Thursday (August 7th), when a fan commented on a throwback Bad Wolves post asking if he was on good terms with the band. Vext responded directly:
“Me and John [Boecklin, Bad Wolves drummer] had dinner in March and hugged it out. Been really close with Chris [Cain] for the last 3 years and we are writing new music together. Personally I want nothing to do with Kyle & Doc doesn’t want to make amends despite my attempts.
Presently everyone has quit the band including DL and John is reforming with all new members again for the third time.”
