Canadian technical death metal outfit Beyond Creation have returned with their first new music in roughly seven years. The band have unveiled a new single titled “Reverence,” accompanied by an official music video.
The clip was directed by François Bertrand alongside the band’s vocalist/guitarist Simon Girard.
Speaking on the inspiration behind the track, Girard explained:
“Our new single explores the fragile line between clarity and illusion, between introspection and insanity, where the search for meaning can either elevate us or consume us. But the truth is simple and powerful: the moment you stop comparing and start focusing on who you truly are and what you genuinely want to express, something beautiful happens.
You create from a place of honesty. You grow with purpose. What you achieve becomes something you can be proud of, because it is unique, real and entirely your own.”
He continued, touching on the pressures of the modern era:
“With social media, we are constantly measuring ourselves against others. The more we compare, the further we drift from our true selves and our authentic voice. We are lost amidst stress and insecurity. We feel that our ideas lack value, that our techniques are insufficient and our identity is somehow flawed.”
“Once we stop with the comparisons, we free ourselves to grow. We flourish in ways we never thought possible.”
“Reverence” marks the band’s first glimpse of new material since their 2018 album Algorythm, signaling a new chapter for the long-running progressive death metal act.
