Lithuanian avant-garde metal outfit Black Spikes have unveiled another visual from their latest album, ‘Ydos’, with the band now premiering a music video for “Senas Demonas.”
The new clip arrived on September 28 and was directed by Rokas Baškys, continuing the band’s run of enigmatic visuals surrounding ‘Ydos’.
Released in August through Napalm Records, ‘Ydos’ has seen Black Spikes gradually expand its visual world through a series of cryptic music videos and clips. “Senas Demonas” adds another chapter to that presentation while exploring themes of suffering, happiness and human vice.
The band explained the concept behind the track:
“We often meet people who, despite everything beautiful life has given them, can no longer see any happiness in it. In the song, an old man meets the demons of the Vices and tells them that happiness is only an illusion, while pain and suffering are the true parts of life. It leaves us with a question: are our Vices born within us, or does life itself teach us to become them?”
The new video follows the band’s previous visual material for ‘Ydos’ as Black Spikes continue to build an increasingly mysterious presentation around the album.
