Blood Vulture Unveil Goth Rock Cover Of Converge’s “You Fail Me”

Blood Vulture have released a new music video for their reimagined take on Converge’s “You Fail Me,” transforming the metalcore staple into a dark, goth rock-inspired rendition.

The song originally served as the title track to Converge’s 2004 fifth studio album, but Blood Vulture frontman Jordan Olds takes it in a dramatically different direction here.

Olds is widely known to many fans as Gwarsenio Hall, the host of Two Minutes To Late Night, where he became celebrated for assembling high-profile cover collaborations during the pandemic featuring members of Tool, Primus, Converge, and many others.

Speaking on why he chose the song, Olds said:

“The battle of anger and empathy in Jacob‘s writing is so beautiful and because of the dealings I’ve had with struggling loved ones in my life, the song’s subject matter has always hit me like an axe (to fall).”

He continued:

“Covering a band that’s still active and creatively thriving isn’t really done in our world, but I think we sometimes forget to celebrate the bands that never stop and never look back. Like many, I wouldn’t be here without their music or their personal support through the years and so I wanted to honor them.”

Blood Vulture will also be hitting the road in the coming weeks for dates with Final Gasp and Pallbearer.
