Blue Medusa have unveiled their third single to date, “Crocodile.,” accompanied by a new music video. The outfit is fronted by DragonForce and former Arch Enemy vocalist Alissa White-Gluz, who co-directed the clip with Vicente Cordero (Fear Factory, Cradle Of Filth).
According to Alissa, the song explores the uneasy feeling of sensing danger lurking nearby, even when there’s no obvious indication of what might be waiting beneath the surface.
“‘Crocodile’ speaks of that feeling of being watched… that instinctive fear when you know danger is lurking nearby, even without seeing it. The feeling that something is hiding just beneath the surface of what seems safe or familiar. It is in this tension, between what we perceive and what we sense, that the song lives.”
Alissa forms the core lineup alongside guitarists Alyssa Day (Mindscar, In Absentia) and Dani Sophia. For live performances, the group is rounded out by touring bassist Alicia Vigil (DragonForce, Vigil Of War) and drummer Delaney Jaster (These Fading Visions).
The guitar custom-built for Alissa and featured in the new video will also be auctioned off in support of Sea Shepherd.
Blue Medusa are preparing for their live debut later this month, with the band’s first-ever performance booked for the Louder Than Life festival in Louisville, KY on September 18. They’ll also appear at Aftershock in Sacramento, CA on October 2.
