Welsh post-hardcore band Holding Absence have once again encountered travel complications and will no longer be able to perform during tomorrow’s, May 7th, edition of Welcome To Rockville in Daytona Beach, FL. Stepping in as a replacement will be progressive metalcore outfit Born Of Osiris, who have officially joined the festival lineup for the day.
This isn’t the first time visa and travel restrictions have disrupted plans for Holding Absence in the United States. Last year, members of Boundaries were recruited to fill in for the band at both When We Were Young in Las Vegas, NV and a Warped Tour stop in Orlando, FL after similar visa-related setbacks prevented the group from appearing.
Despite tomorrow’s cancellation, festival organizers haven’t completely ruled out the possibility of Holding Absence appearing later during the weekend. The festival shared the following statement regarding the situation:
“Born of Osiris officially joins the Welcome To Rockville lineup to deliver progressive metal mayhem on the Inferno Stage TOMORROW, MAY 7. 🔥🤘
Due to a travel issue involving visas, Holding Absence is unable to perform tomorrow. However… we’re still trying hard to make something happen with them later this weekend, so stay tuned and keep your eyes on our updates.”
