More details have emerged surrounding the arrest of former Turnstile and The S.E.T. guitarist Brady Ebert. According to reporting from The Baltimore Banner, the 33-year-old musician is facing charges of attempted second-degree murder and first-degree assault following an incident involving William Yates, the 79-year-old father of Turnstile vocalist Brendan Yates.
Police reports and surveillance footage indicate that Ebert arrived at the Yates residence, honking and shouting obscenities. The Baltimore Banner details that Ebert allegedly ran his car into William Yates in the driveway, leaving him with leg injuries. William reportedly told police in the hospital that Ebert returned afterward and told him he “deserved it.”
Sources note that this is not the first altercation involving Ebert and the Yates family, with prior incidents occurring after his 2022 departure from Turnstile. Ebert was arrested on March 31st and has remained in custody pending a bail review hearing scheduled for April 2nd.
Ebert’s behavior had reportedly grown increasingly erratic on social media, particularly toward Brendan Yates. His exit from Turnstile in 2022 also involved a peace order. More recently, The S.E.T. parted ways with Ebert in February, citing concerns over “his ridiculous comments and behavior toward the members of our band and our community.” Ebert had subsequently launched a new project, Existence.
