Ex-The S.E.T./Turnstile Guitarist Brady Ebert Urges Fans Not To Support The S.E.T.: “At This Point It’s More A Cover Band Than Anything”

Former Brady Ebert guitarist for The S.E.T. has urged fans not to support the band following his recent exit from the group. Ebert was dismissed from the Baltimore hardcore outfit last month, roughly a month before the March 6th release of their debut EP “Self Evident Truth.”

At the time of his removal, the band issued a statement explaining their decision:

“Brady is no longer a member of THE S.E.T. We will not stand by his ridiculous comments and behavior toward the members of our band and our community. We will continue to put on for Baltimore hardcore and thank everyone for their support.”

Ebert’s departure followed a wave of controversy surrounding comments he made about his former bandmates in Turnstile, as well as a number of heated exchanges involving other individuals online.

With the EP arriving yesterday, March 6th, Ebert addressed the situation via Instagram Stories. While he said he remains proud of the material he worked on, he also encouraged fans not to support the band moving forward.

“Check it out on Spotify or somewhere streaming but dont support the band, as at this point it’s more a cover band than anything.”

Ebert also emphasized the role he believes he played in shaping the release.

“I’m proud of the sound I created and the riffs on that album, as well as the whole art direction and image that I contributed. I’m not normally one to talk on the internet or publicly as anyone who knows me knows but misinformation and lying are becoming an epidemic in this world.”

Despite the split, The S.E.T. are continuing on as a trio for the time being while a replacement for Ebert is sought. Meanwhile, Ebert has already launched a new project of his own called Experience.
