Bullet For My Valentine frontman Matt Tuck recently reflected on the song he believes best defines the band’s sound and legacy. In a new interview with Metal Hammer, the vocalist/guitarist pointed to “Waking The Demon”, the third and final single from their 2008 sophomore album Scream Aim Fire, as the track that most fully embodies what the Welsh melodic metalcore outfit is all about.

Tuck explained:
“It’s one of those songs that, when we were writing it, I knew we had something cool, something special. It encapsulates what Bullet is: it’s heavy, it’s melodic, it’s anthemic, it’s intricate, it has a weird structure. [It’s] one of the songs that never left the setlist ever since it was written.”
The song has remained a staple in the band’s live set for over 15 years, serving as a powerful showcase of their signature blend of aggression and melody.
Although the band had initially planned to continue celebrating the 20th anniversary of their debut album The Poison on tour with Trivium this year, those plans were unexpectedly scrapped. Instead, Bullet For My Valentine are now turning their attention toward their upcoming eighth studio album.
