God Forbid vocalist Byron Davis is stepping into the fashion world with the launch of a new apparel company, Desert Urban Industries.
Based in El Paso, TX, the new brand is aimed at what it describes as “corporate metalheads and grown rockers,” offering clothing designed to bring elements of heavy music culture into a more polished, professional setting.
Rather than relying on traditional band merchandise and oversized tour graphics, Desert Urban Industries focuses on more understated designs, including refined graphics, subtle crest logos and custom outerwear intended to work across both professional and everyday environments.
The concept comes directly from Davis, who serves as the company’s founder and Chief Creative Officer. According to the vocalist, the idea grew from the experience of balancing a connection to the heavy music scene with the expectations that come with professional life.
“For years, those of us who grew up in the heavy music scene were expected to swap our identity for a dress code the second we stepped into professional life. We created Desert Urban Industries so you don’t have to choose between your roots and your career. It’s about maintaining that rebellious spirit in a way that’s classy, functional, and built for modern life.”
The company describes its aesthetic as being “born in the desert and urban-made,” with the goal of blending the raw attitude of heavy music with clothing that can transition into more formal surroundings.
Desert Urban Industries is now open for business, with the debut collection available through the company’s official online store.
