There is positive news to report regarding American Head Charge vocalist Cameron Heacock, who is officially no longer homeless after months of rehabilitation and recovery efforts.
Back in November 2025, Heacock appeared in an interview with Soft White Underbelly, where he discussed his struggles with drug addiction, homelessness, and life on the streets of Los Angeles. During the interview, the singer detailed the series of events that contributed to his situation and spoke openly about his desire to get clean and rebuild his life.
The interview sparked support from members of the nu metal community, including Holiday Kirk of The Nu Metal Agenda, who launched ‘The Something Beautiful Project’ after locating Heacock in the Los Angeles area.
The initiative was created to help fund treatment, housing, and other recovery-related expenses as Heacock worked toward overcoming his addiction and stabilizing his life.
In an update shared on July 30th, Kirk revealed that Heacock had reached a major milestone in his recovery journey.
Kirk stated:
“Cameron Heacock is no longer homeless. His application for city housing was approved and he moved into a unit yesterday.”
Kirk went on to praise Heacock’s determination throughout the recovery process.
“I cannot possibly explain to you all how proud I am of my best friend, Cam. There were so many moments during these last eight months when things looked impossible, tougher than you could imagine, but he never gave up.”
The update continued with a celebration of the achievement and appreciation for those who supported the project.
“And now I get to say it, in fact I’ll say it again, Cameron Heacock of American Head Charge is no longer homeless. This would not have been possible without the support of everyone who has contributed to The Something Beautiful Project.”
While securing housing marks a significant step forward, Kirk emphasized that the work is far from over.
“We’re not done, not even close. But everything just got a lot easier to do. Let’s keep on pushing the envelope.”
In addition to helping secure treatment and housing, ‘The Something Beautiful Project’ has assisted Heacock with obtaining extensive dental work after he reportedly lost a substantial number of teeth during years of addiction and homelessness. The project has also helped bring several American Head Charge releases to streaming platforms, generating additional support for his recovery efforts.
For fans of American Head Charge, the update represents a hopeful development in Heacock’s ongoing journey toward rebuilding his life.
