Candiria Guitarist John LaMacchia Teams With Dälek’s Mike Manteca For New Project Mare LaMacchia

Members of Candiria and experimental hip-hop duo Dälek have joined forces for a new collaborative project titled Mare LaMacchia.

The group brings together Candiria guitarist John LaMacchia and Dälek’s Mike Manteca, with the pair set to release their debut EP on April 24th via Mind Over Matter Records. While full details surrounding the release remain limited for now, new music and pre-orders are expected to arrive next week.

According to the label, listeners should not expect a straightforward continuation of either artist’s previous work. Mind Over Matter Records teased the project’s direction in an early statement announcing the signing:

“After reviewing their pedigree, the first thing you need to do is throw away any idea of what you think this project sounds like…because you’d be dead wrong. Mare LaMacchia is the newest addition to the Mind Over Matter Records family, and their unique sound fits in perfectly amongst the diverse roster.”

The label further described the collaboration as stylistically adventurous, blending multiple sonic approaches into something distinctly new:

“Riding the line somewhere between sample-driven industrial music and slick pop music, blending genres in a way that only two titans of groundbreaking music can do.”

They added:

“We can’t wait for you to experience it all! The debut EP will be available on April 24th, and we will launch pre-orders next week along with a tasty little musical treat.”
