Teenage thrash metal quartet Chained Saint are gearing up to release their new EP ‘Rise To Fall’, which has now been scheduled for an October 9th arrival.
The five-track effort was co-produced by the band alongside Rob Roy at Power Station Studios, and the group have offered up a first preview with the release of “Snakeskin” and its accompanying lyric video.
The band described the new track as a sign of how their sound has continued to develop since their previous release, ‘Blindside’, explaining:
“‘Snakeskin’ feels like the beginning of the next chapter for Chained Saint. We’ve grown a lot since Blindside, as musicians, as songwriters, and especially from being out on the road and playing these songs in front of people. One thing we keep getting asked after shows is how we describe our sound, and we still don’t really have a perfect answer. It’s just…us. There’s thrash, hardcore, and groove all living in the same place, and that combination has become a much bigger part of who we are as a band.”
They went on to elaborate on how that mixture of styles shaped the upcoming EP:
“With this new material, we leaned into that even more, the speed, riffs and aggression of thrash, the weight and raw energy of hardcore, and the kind of groove that makes the songs hit differently live. We started pushing further into that fusion naturally, without trying to force it into one specific lane. The new EP is heavier, more aggressive and more focused, while still keeping the classic metal foundation that’s always been part of who we are. ‘Snakeskin’ is the first real look at that evolution and where Chained Saint is headed next, and we couldn’t be more excited for people to hear what’s coming.”
‘Rise To Fall’ will feature the following five tracks:
01 – “Drive”
02 – “Punk”
03 – “Rise To Fall”
04 – “Snakeskin”
05 – “Uncrowned”
The EP is due out October 9th.
