Cher Renewedly Seeks Conservatorship Over Son Elijah Blue Allman Amid New Legal Troubles

Cher has once again filed for a temporary conservatorship over her son, Elijah Blue Allman, frontman of industrial rock band Deadsy, following a recent series of legal and health-related incidents.

The singer first sought conservatorship in late 2023, arguing that Allman was unable to responsibly manage his finances due to what court filings described as ongoing mental health and substance abuse struggles.

At the time, Cher’s legal team claimed that money distributed to Allman from a trust established by his late father, Gregg Allman of The Allman Brothers Band, was at risk of being quickly spent in destructive ways. Court documents from that filing stated Allman receives approximately $120,000 annually from the trust.

Allman disputed those allegations during the initial legal battle, maintaining that he was receiving treatment and capable of handling his affairs. The matter was ultimately settled in September 2024.

However, new developments appear to have prompted Cher to return to court.

According to recent reports, Allman was hospitalized following an overdose in June 2025. Earlier this year, he was also arrested in New Hampshire in separate incidents involving trespassing, disorderly conduct, assault-related charges, and an alleged residential break-in.

New filings reportedly state that Allman remains in a psychiatric hospital and accuse him of spending money “almost exclusively” on drugs, luxury hotels, and transportation services.

The petition also references alleged unpaid debts, a reported $200,000 tax bill, damage claims at rental properties, and multiple removals from hotels over behavioral incidents.

Cher is now seeking to have Jason Rubin appointed as temporary conservator of Allman’s estate in an effort to stabilize his finances.

Allman, 49, is the vocalist of Deadsy, the cult industrial/alternative rock band known for albums such as ‘Commencement’ and ‘Phantasmagore’.
