While Chino Moreno is best known for his genre-blurring vocal work with Deftones, his evolution as a guitarist has become more prominent since the early 2000s — both in the studio and on stage. Now, that side of his musicianship has taken a new shape through a collaboration with KHDK Electronics on a signature effects pedal dubbed Digital Bath.

Named after the iconic track from Deftones’ 2000 landmark album White Pony, the Digital Bath pedal aims to recreate the song’s dreamy, echo-laced guitar tones. According to KHDK, the unit is “a filter-delay modulation pedal designed to dissolve your guitar signal into waves of dreamy textures and hypnotic echoes.”
Chino Moreno debuted the pedal live during Deftones’ performances at Coachella 2024, where it was used on stage as part of the band’s ethereal and immersive set.
David Karon, co-founder of KHDK Electronics alongside Metallica guitarist Kirk Hammett, shared the following about the development process:
“Digital Bath is the most complex pedal we have ever developed. It took us nearly two years to get it absolutely perfect.”
The Digital Bath pedal is available now via khdkelectronics.com.
