With a legacy marked by internal conflicts and legal battles, Fear Factory has seen its share of turbulence over the years. Now, former bassist/vocalist Christian Olde Wolbers, a key figure in the band’s past disputes, has unveiled his new project, Angst Fabrik.
Although he has described the name as a “working title,” its direct German translation—Fear Factory—leaves little to the imagination regarding his intentions. Currently in the writing phase, the project appears to be focused on reviving elements of Fear Factory‘s most commercially successful era. A recent post from Wolbers further hints at this, stating, “…I am going to perfect that classic Fear Factory drum sound and take things to a new level.”
Wolbers previously reconnected with former Fear Factory vocalist Burton C. Bell this past January, fueling speculation that more ex-members could be involved in Angst Fabrik. While details remain scarce, the direction of this new venture will undoubtedly catch the attention of longtime fans.

Lame. Fear Factory was always Dino’s band from day one. This guy wasn’t even on the debut record. Move on dude. Dino was and is the creative force behind Fear Factory.

Christian gets a lot of hate, but at the same time, I’ve had a lot of interactions with him over the years, and he’s been super nice. He even took the time to listen to a cover I did of Slave Labor and gave me some feedback, but ultimately said I nailed it, lol.

Devin Townsend was inspired heavily by FF and created his own version and called it SYL. Go that route if you’re gonna do that.

He’s not calling the band Fear Factory so I don’t see what the issue is. I’ve seen Fear Factory a bunch of times dating back to 1997 and they almost always headlined their own world tours.
