Church Tongue Drop “You’ll Know It Was Me” Video With George Clarke Of Deafheaven

Church Tongue have unveiled the official music video for “You’ll Know It Was Me,” the title track of their newly released EP. The song features a guest appearance from Deafheaven’s George Clarke, a collaboration that vocalist Mike Sugars calls a dream come true.

“I literally can’t believe George is on this song. He gave one of my favorite vocal performances I’ve ever heard. This is it—the title track. The centerpiece, if you will. There’s callbacks in this song to older tracks of ours, and if you’ve stuck around with us and put the pieces together, this song really does our past material justice and gives peace to those tracks.

I knew going into this I wanted the songs to be about love, and I knew the first time I heard the demo of this, it would be about my wife; who is the cornerstone of my joy. It was the first song I wrote lyrics for on this, and when I showed it to Greg for tracking, he said, ‘Oh, this is done. No edits.’ I knew it had to be the title track.”

Directed by Errick Easterday (Bodysnatcher, Gates To Hell), the video delivers a fittingly intense visual for the emotionally charged song.
