Circle Jerks took the stage at Coachella this past weekend, and during their April 13 set, frontman Keith Morris paused the show to reflect on the lyrics of their song “Coup D’Etat.” Specifically, he addressed the final line of the track, saying:
“That song, that last line, ends with ‘kill all.’ That’s a pretty fucking ugly statement. In ugly times. Do not think that we encourage that.”
Morris made it clear that, given the current political and social climate, the lyric no longer aligns with the band’s message.
He followed up adding:
“What we do encourage, what would be totally fucking happening, would be an army of Luigis.”
The comment referred to Luigi Mangione, who is currently facing first-degree murder charges in connection with the death of Brian Thompson, the CEO of UnitedHealthcare.

Dan Antoni and if helps you I just seen circle jerks and descendants last year for $35. And circle jerks built themselves up from nothing. What’s that if not DIY? And also the jerks have history with the promoter of Coachella, and were invited to play so they did. I’m not mad at them trying to get that bag man. They are in their mid sixties at least. If you want to see them go anywhere besides Coachella and see them for less than $40.
