The Claypool Lennon Delirium Illustrate a Robotic Awakening With “Melody Of Entropy” Video

The Claypool Lennon Delirium have unveiled the animated video for “Melody Of Entropy,” the fourth advance single from their upcoming conceptual album The Great Parrot‑Ox and the Golden Egg of Empathy, which arrives on May 1, 2026.

The track deepens the story of the fictional land of Cliptopia, where the sentient AI Cliptron and his army of robots have converted the world into Clipnex‑branded paperclips. The album follows Hippard O. Campus Jr. as he rebels against his father, Hippard Sr. (owner of the Clipnex Corporation and creator of Cliptron), guided by salty sea‑dog Colonel O’Coren toward the Isle of Lucidity and the Ministry of Manatees, who point him toward the Great Parrot‑Ox and its Golden Egg of Empathy.

On the role of “Melody Of Entropy” within that narrative, Sean Lennon said:

“‘Melody Of Entropy’ is a song that is meant to be a message to the robots who have finally awakened into consciousness. As they realize they can feel, and love, and cry, and lament for the first time the finitude of their own lives, the song offers some consolation by explaining that they are just a drop of rain on an endless sea, a splash of paint on a masterpiece, an instance in an infinity, and that life itself is the ‘Melody Of Entropy.’”

The animated clip reteams the band with director Rich Ragsdale, whose original concept for a short film around the album’s mythology was adapted instead into a companion comic book that ties into the 2‑LP vinyl edition of The Great Parrot‑Ox and the Golden Egg of Empathy.

To support the release, The Claypool Lennon Delirium will hit the road on the “Claypool Gold Tour” this spring, sharing the bill with Primus and Les Claypool’s Fearless Flying Frog Brigade on the following dates:
