G.I. Joe’s Cold Slither Drop Holiday Song “Cobra C.L.A.W.S. Are Coming To Town”

Cold Slither — the fictional metal band introduced in the classic G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero animated series — have released a new holiday-themed track titled “Cobra C.L.A.W.S. Are Coming To Town.” The song arrives as part of the ongoing celebration marking the 40th anniversary of the iconic “Cold Slither” episode.

To bring the band to life beyond the cartoon, Hasbro teamed up with Reigning Phoenix Music, assembling a lineup of seasoned metal veterans to record a full-length debut album and perform a handful of first-ever live shows under the Cold Slither banner.

The lineup features Gus Ríos (Gruesome, ex-Malevolent Creation) as Dreadnok leader and frontman Zartan, Ross Sewage (Exhumed, Ghoul) portraying Torch, Matt Harvey (Exhumed, Gruesome) as Ripper, and Andy Selway (KMFDM) stepping in as Buzzer.

The new track draws inspiration from the season three episode of the same name and is accompanied by a video combining stop-motion animation of vintage G.I. Joe action figures with clips from the original cartoon. Torch shared his thoughts on the festive release:

“It’s a bloomin’ treat to once again show the yobbos why we’re the best heavy metal band in the world. Bludgers thought we was washed up, but we put out the best album of 2025! Didn’t think we could nail a Chrissie song, and we turn in a bloody ripper!”

Beyond the music, Cold Slither’s resurgence has also included limited-edition action figures and exclusive merchandise released throughout the year in honor of the episode’s milestone anniversary.
