Swedish post-metal collective Cult Of Luna have officially revealed details surrounding their upcoming tenth studio album, “In The Shadow Of Your Shadow,” set for release on November 06 via their own label Red Crk Recordings.
The album was previously teased with its title track and now arrives with full confirmation of guest appearances, production credits, and track listing details.
Produced by Cult Of Luna alongside Daniel Bergstrand (Behemoth, In Flames), the record spans 71 minutes and continues the band’s long-running reputation for expansive, atmospheric compositions.
Among the most notable contributions are two high-profile guest appearances. Joe Duplantier of GRAMMY Award-winning metal giants Gojira features on the track “Sadness Will Reign,” while David Eugene Edwards of 16 Horsepower / Wovenhand appears on “One More Day.”
Frontman Johannes Persson described the band’s creative philosophy and long-term approach to evolution, emphasizing a refusal to stagnate creatively.
“Stagnation is the only thing that scares me. I’ve said this in every interview I’ve done for the past 25 years: I don’t care whether or not people think we’re repeating ourselves. As long as we feel like we aren’t, we will continue to do this.”
A press release further expanded on the record’s themes, describing it as a 71-minute monolith that rejects trends and conventional expectations while channeling personal themes of loss and emotional aftermath.
Persson also reflected on working with David Eugene Edwards, noting his long-standing admiration for the artist’s work and how naturally his voice fit the composition of “One More Day.”
