Dance Gavin Dance have added another milestone to their catalog, as the Sacramento, CA post-hardcore outfit have officially earned their second gold-certified single in the United States.
The newly certified track, “Uneasy Hearts Weigh The Most,” originally appeared on the band’s 2008 self-titled sophomore album and features a guest appearance from Nic Newsham of Gatsbys American Dream. Though never released as an official single at the time, the song has remained one of the group’s most enduring fan favorites over the years.
That same album also included a notable collaboration with Deftones vocalist Chino Moreno, who appeared on the track “Caviar,” further cementing the record’s legacy within the post-hardcore scene.
This marks the second gold certification for Dance Gavin Dance, following their 2015 breakout hit “We Own The Night,” which achieved gold status in September 2023.
In the United States, a gold certification represents 500,000 units sold, while platinum signifies 1,000,000 units. Modern certifications also factor in streaming equivalents, with digital downloads and on-demand audio or video streams contributing toward total unit counts.
