Dany Ciara Details Allegations of Abuse, Manipulation, and AI Material Against As I Lay Dying’s Tim Lambesis

Dany Ciara, the former wife of As I Lay Dying frontman Tim Lambesis, has publicly shared an extensive account of her marriage and its breakdown, outlining a series of serious allegations during a nearly four-hour appearance on the Brutally Speaking podcast.

The episode, hosted by Jon Beatty, was framed as a survivor-centered conversation rather than an adversarial interview. Over the course of the discussion, Ciara described what she says was an intense, fast-moving relationship that later unraveled into infidelity, emotional manipulation, coercion, and physical intimidation. A Rapid Beginning

Ciara said the relationship began in 2021 after she contacted Lambesis through Instagram, initially as a longtime fan of the band. She described the connection as accelerating almost immediately, with Lambesis traveling to meet her shortly after their first exchange.

According to Ciara, the whirlwind escalated quickly: she relocated her life, traveled with Lambesis to California, and married him in Las Vegas just weeks after they met.

“We started talking through Instagram, and the same day I first messaged him, he told me he’d fly out to wherever I was to meet me.”

“We got married two weeks after meeting each other… We were half-joking about getting married in Vegas on the drive, and we just ended up doing it.”

Ciara described the early months as euphoric and overwhelming, saying the intensity felt unreal in hindsight.

“It felt like cloud nine. Like this is too good to be true — which it was.”

Infidelity And Escalation

Ciara said that roughly six months into the marriage, she discovered Lambesis had been unfaithful, an event she described as emotionally devastating.

“I remember the exact date. It was March 14th. That was the worst day of my life.”

She claimed the infidelity was not an isolated incident but part of a broader pattern she now believes existed in Lambesis’ previous relationships.

“It’s definitely something he’s done to everyone he’s been in a relationship with.”

Despite this, Ciara said Lambesis attributed his behavior to unresolved trauma and expressed a desire to repair the marriage. She chose to stay, believing reconciliation was possible.

Control, Conflict, And Alleged Abuse

According to Ciara, the period following the infidelity became increasingly volatile. She said she was pressured to “heal” on Lambesis’ terms, with prolonged emotional responses framed as attacks against him.

“He wanted me to heal on a timeline that was acceptable to him. If I was angry or depressed for too long, he’d say I was torturing him.”

She said disagreements escalated beyond verbal conflict and alleged incidents of physical violence and intimidation, alongside extreme mood swings she attributed to steroid use. Ciara emphasized that only a portion of what she claims occurred has ever been publicly discussed.

Ciara also alleged that surveillance cameras inside their home were later used against her, with recorded arguments edited to remove context.

“He shoved me, took my phone, and muted the audio so it looked like I was just this crazy person with no context.”

She claimed the edited footage was then shared with members of As I Lay Dying via an email account Lambesis allegedly created while posing as a third party.

“He spoke like a friend of his, saying this is what Tim’s life is like — that he’s scared of me.”

According to Ciara, Lambesis later told her he did this in an effort to protect his career.

Additional Allegations

Ciara also described what she characterized as coercive sexual pressure throughout the marriage, saying refusals often resulted in emotional retaliation.

“If I said I wasn’t in the mood, it would turn into a fight… I’d end up crying in the bathroom afterward, feeling disgusted with myself.”

One of the most serious claims raised involved what Ciara said was AI-generated pornographic material found on Lambesis’ phone, including content she believes depicted an adult and a minor.

“There was a time where he was making AI pornography on his phone… Even if he didn’t generate it, he saved it.”

Ciara said the discovery permanently altered her sense of safety and trust.

She also made allegations involving her pets, claiming they were used as another means of control. Ciara alleged Lambesis offered her $20,000 to get rid of her dog and claimed video exists showing him striking or kicking the animal.

Additionally, Ciara said Lambesis frequently involved his family—particularly his mother—in disputes, contributing to a narrative she believes undermined her credibility. She also stated police were repeatedly called to the home, often by neighbors, and that she regularly attempted to shield Lambesis from consequences.

Aftermath And Speaking Out

Ciara claimed members of As I Lay Dying witnessed volatile behavior while on tour and believes ongoing conflict contributed to further instability within the band. Following the end of the marriage, she said she spent roughly a year isolated and focused on recovery.

She also alleged that a music project she created under the name Hellborn was taken and potentially reused after her departure.

“I’ve never really had a platform. Most people only know me as someone’s ex-wife. But there’s so much more to the story.”

Ciara said she chose to speak publicly now to reclaim her narrative and to support others experiencing similar situations.

“If someone listening to this is in a situation like this, I want them to know they’re not crazy — and they’re not alone.”
