Melodic metalcore outfit Dark Divine have issued a public statement addressing renewed criticism tied to allegations made by a former crew member in 2025, as calls continue to grow online for the band to be removed from their recently announced fall tour with Motionless In White.
The controversy resurfaced following the tour announcement, with discussion spreading across social media and eventually becoming a trending topic on X. Critics have pointed to accusations made by a former crew member, who alleged that the band fostered a hostile work environment and was not respectful toward LGBTQ+ individuals.
In their statement, Dark Divine rejected claims that they are unsafe for LGBTQ+ fans or that they have failed to properly compensate members of their crew.
“Dark Divine has always and will always be a space for the LGBTQ+ community and for our crew to feel safe and respected. That is something that we stand by and always want to maintain.”
The band stated that they maintain records of all crew payments and commissions, adding that workers are paid according to agreed-upon rates and that they keep documentation to resolve any payment issues should they arise.
Addressing the allegations directly, Dark Divine referenced a situation involving a former sound engineer during a 2024 tour. According to the band’s account, the individual allegedly became intoxicated on multiple occasions and engaged in verbal conflicts with members of the touring party.
“There was much learning to be done in real time and we wish we had handled it better.”
The band acknowledged that aspects of the situation could have been managed more effectively but maintained that they worked to navigate a complicated set of circumstances and have not experienced a similar issue since.
Dark Divine also pushed back against claims that they are hostile toward LGBTQ+ individuals, arguing that inclusivity has always been a core part of the band’s identity.
“Discrimination and hate has never had a place in this band or fanbase.”
The statement concluded with the band reaffirming its commitment to growth, accountability, and maintaining an environment where fans, crew members, and collaborators feel respected.
The controversy comes just weeks after Motionless In White announced the second leg of their The Sweat And Blood Tour. Outside of the tour, Dark Divine vocalist Anthony Martinez is also set to appear on the song “Blood Rave” from Motionless In White’s upcoming album ‘Decades’, which is scheduled for release on July 17.

Scott WilliamsI’ve seen them several times. They use backing tracks, but so do MIW and most modern bands, especially in the metalcore scene.
Kare Michaela yeah but when you can’t hear him singing, it delves more into the MV realm of live music. Especially if it’s every single song. Hell Shinedown used it on a couple tracks in Tampa the other day but at least I could distinguish the track and his voice.
