Foo Fighters’ Dave Grohl On A “Deeply Divided” America: “There’s So Much Hate And Fear”

Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl has commented on the current political and social climate in the United States, describing the country as deeply divided and weighed down by injustice, fear, and hate.

Grohl has long been recognized for his charitable work, often volunteering time and resources to help those in need, particularly in California. Despite that public generosity, he has historically remained more private when it comes to openly discussing politics.

In a recent interview with Irish Times, Grohl addressed the atmosphere in America and admitted it has become difficult to ignore the nation’s political tensions.

“Fucking Neil Young is angrier than ever – jeez, Louise. But, yeah, of course, it’s hard not to feel political living in America, where we’re deeply divided. And there’s injustice, and there’s so much hate and fear, and it’s such a drag.”

He continued by emphasizing empathy and unity as values he believes are needed now more than ever.

“I try to love everyone, because I think that’s what you’re supposed to do – and I do. But there needs to be change in that direction, and it’s been hard to find in the States.”

While Grohl stopped short of endorsing any specific political position, his comments offer a rare glimpse into his personal frustration with the current state of the country.
