Disturbed’s David Draiman Proposes Unity Festival Featuring Bad Bunny, Kid Rock & More: ‘Music Should Be A Bridge Between All People’

Disturbed vocalist David Draiman has suggested staging a music festival designed to bring together artists associated with opposing political viewpoints. The idea was shared via his social media on Monday, February 9th, where he framed the concept as a way to counter cultural division through collaboration and shared performance.

Draiman wrote:

“Here’s a ‘radical’ idea.

Music should be a bridge between all people.

The identity politics, partisan garbage, and division need to stop.

I challenge any organization out there to put on a festival that has Bad Bunny, Kid Rock and all kinds of acts from different sides of the political spectrum, sharing the same stage.

Everyone can showcase their respective cultures and backgrounds, fuse musical elements together, perform together, celebrate life together…

…PUSH BACK AGAINST THIS DARKNESS…TOGETHER.

It can be an opportunity to share, and appreciate the respective cultures that gave birth to each artist’s unique form of entertainment.

Music can unite people like nothing else in creation.

It’s beyond time we remembered that.”

His remarks appear to reference cultural tensions surrounding Super Bowl weekend programming, which saw Bad Bunny perform the official Super Bowl LX halftime show while Turning Point USA presented an unofficial counter-event featuring Kid Rock and other artists aligned with conservative audiences.

Draiman himself has remained a polarizing figure in recent years due to his vocal support of Israel during the Israel–Gaza conflict. His 2024 decision to sign an IDF artillery shell sparked backlash that has continued to follow both him and the band in public discourse.

The festival proposal has already generated discussion online, though no organization has publicly committed to developing the concept into an actual event.
