Deftones frontman Chino Moreno has long been known for his generosity with fans, often taking the time to snap photos and sign memorabilia. However, a recent encounter seemingly pushed his patience to the limit while he was enjoying some time off in public.
In what appeared to be a coordinated effort rather than a casual run-in, a group of fans approached Moreno, each carrying stacks of Deftones vinyl for him to sign—some of which had already been autographed by other band members. After signing more than a dozen records, Moreno became visibly frustrated and cautioned the group:
“Go ahead and tell your friends I’m not doing this shit no more. You guys go online in your little groups and shit, tell people I’m not signing shit no more. I signed these right now, but let them know I’m not signing anything.”
When one fan asked if he’d sign “just two more,” Moreno, already walking away, shook his head and left. While his statement about no longer signing likely referred to that specific moment, it was clear the situation had struck a nerve.
The interaction raises a larger issue many artists face—being approached by individuals who may not be genuine fans but rather resellers looking to profit from autographed items. Adding to the awkwardness of the exchange, only one person was heard thanking Moreno, and none of them asked for a selfie or personal interaction—something typically expected from fans.
While Moreno has always been known for his approachability, it’s understandable that he wouldn’t want to be ambushed into an impromptu signing session. You can watch the full exchange here.

Wish i could get an autograph. -.-
Rightfully so. His autograph is going for $300+ on eBay as of today.
Not only that, but now there are tons of pictures of his autograph being scraped by AI that can now be used in fraud.
Love Chino but have some grace too bro, in the video you singing it then go on a rant that your not going to sign. You’ve been signing for yrs now all of a sudden your done doing that. We can’t read your mind Chino.
Should have handled that in a better way.
I chalked it up to him having a bad day or hes getting older like most of us and his patience is wearing thin in age 😂
Give respect to this man!!
I don’t get it,, what’s the point in owning someone’s autograph if you wernt personally there yourself to collect it anyway? i love chino, I’d love to have him sign my trainer or a record or something to say I’d met him, would i ever sell it? No, its my memorabilia,,,would I pay someone else for that?? What’s the point? I don’t blame him for reacting that way
A picture or just an interaction is more meaningful
Sucks being a rockstar
