DENIAL OF LIFE Reportedly Involved In Police Chase While Touring Austria

Tacoma, WA crossover thrash band Denial Of Life were reportedly detained by Austrian authorities last week following an alleged police pursuit while on tour in Europe. According to a local media segment shared by ORF ON, the group was pulled over near the German border for multiple road safety violations.

Police claim the band’s camper van contained several individuals lying down instead of sitting upright and wearing seatbelts. The driver was allegedly found to be under the influence and initially refused a drug test before later complying. Authorities determined he was impaired due to exhaustion and use of an unspecified substance.

Despite being advised not to continue driving, police allege the driver got back behind the wheel, prompting a brief pursuit. When the vehicle was stopped again, another band member—who was not impaired—had taken over driving duties. The group was fined €2,000 but still made it to their scheduled show in Nuremberg, Germany.

Darkest Hour, who were headlining the European/UK run that also featured Bleeding Through and Shai Hulud, later encouraged fans via Instagram to donate to Denial Of Life to help cover the fines.

On October 12th, the band addressed the situation themselves, sharing a shortened clip of the ORF ON report with the caption, “ALLEGEDLY… Made some waves in Austria but we arrived in Munich for the last show of our European tour at Backstage. See you tonight.”

Denial Of Life’s upcoming EP, ‘Witness The Power’, will be released on November 7th through Creator Destructor Records.
