Former Asking Alexandria frontman Denis Stoff has broken his silence regarding the band’s current vocalist Danny Worsnop, taking to social media with sharp criticism following the band’s controversial performance at this year’s Vans Warped Tour stop in Washington, DC.
Worsnop, who has long been scrutinized for his live consistency, came under fire again after footage surfaced showing a disengaged performance heavily reliant on backing tracks. In response, Stoff didn’t hold back, calling the band out both for what he sees as a lackluster live showing and for allegedly failing to pay him royalties from his time in the band.
“I’ve seen the videos, I laughed my tits off, and I loved it. Like hundreds of people mentioned in the comments, this is what they always sounded like live since the beginning of their career.”
Referencing comments Worsnop made years ago about Stoff allegedly lip-syncing to Worsnop’s tracks, Stoff added:
“Danny is clearly having tons of backing tracks in their live set and is clearly incapable of giving a good performance to the people who paid money for their tickets.”
But the criticisms didn’t end there.
In a more serious revelation, Stoff alleged that he has never been compensated for his contributions to The Black — Asking Alexandria’s 2016 album recorded during his short tenure with the band. According to Stoff, he’s still owed a profit share estimated at $5,000,000.
“I would never return to a band that has still NEVER presented a single royalty statement for ‘The Black’ album and has failed to pay out an estimated $5,000,000 of my profit share.”
He continued:
“I have sent countless email requests regarding this situation to the band and their representatives, all of which have been ignored for nearly 9 years.”
Stoff closed his statement by thanking fans for their continued support, while expressing frustration over what he describes as a long-standing effort to silence and erase his role in the band’s history:
“For almost a decade, I stayed silent… but now, considering everything that has happened over time, I simply can’t help but share the truth with you.”
As of now, Asking Alexandria and their camp have not responded publicly to Stoff’s claims.

Obviously I can’t speak on the subject of them owing him royalties, which I’d hope they’d be smart enough to pay, but as far as their live set goes, he’s blatantly wrong to say they’ve “always” sounded that way. I heavily scrutinize and direct performances of every act I see, and I’ve NEVER been a fan of this band, but I’ve seen them several times and he’s sounded great every time. I have no reason to defend them other than to point out the truth. Also, he’s mentioned that he’s going through health issues and unfortunately it’s taking a toll on his vocal abilities. It’s so dumb to criticize vocalists over things they can’t control. He tried his best but realistically what were they gonna do? Cancel the biggest show of the year? No they tried to get through it, and it was apparent they were having some troubles. Not even worth continuing to give the poor guy hell over.
