    DISTURBED Issue Statement Regarding Brussels Show Cancellation Over Security Concerns Related To David Draiman

    Disturbed have issued a statement addressing the cancellation of their planned October 15th concert at Forest National in Brussels, Belgium. The show was called off last week following a local police risk assessment and subsequent order from Charles Spapens, the mayor of the Forest municipality.

    Spapens explained the decision, stating:

    “My priority and responsibility is the safety of residents, demonstrators, spectators and the staff of Forest National. Given the unfavourable opinion of the police and the unique geographical location of the venue, it was my duty to take this decision.”

    Reports suggest that security concerns stemmed in part from David Draiman’s public support of Israel and the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) amid the now-paused Israel–Gaza war. Draiman previously drew criticism in 2024 after signing an IDF artillery shell, an act that reignited controversy as tensions in the region escalated.

    A national strike in Belgium scheduled for October 14th also reportedly contributed to the police assessment, as stretched resources raised concerns over potential unrest surrounding the concert.

    This morning (October 13th), Disturbed released the following statement:

    “BELGIUM UPDATE
    Music is where all our differences fade into the background. Music has the power to heal, to inspire and to bring people together—it’s not about what divides us. We have always made it a point that at our shows ALL are welcome no matter what you believe. Everyone who comes to a Disturbed concert is accepted and loved. We are saddened that our fans in Belgium are not going to be able to share in this celebration of music.

    Your tickets will be refunded automatically within 30 days to the payment card used at the time of purchase. You don’t need to take any further action.

    We would like to thank you for your understanding, and we appreciate your support.”

    Disturbed are currently touring across Europe and the UK in celebration of the 25th anniversary of their 3x multi-platinum debut album ‘The Sickness’, with Megadeth serving as direct support.

          And I feel very sorry for every innocent Gazan dead, and angry at Hamas for using them as human shields in this war.
          Still, even if civilians are dying, this is not a genocide, since there is no intention to kill them (IDF actually warns them). The risk of genocide only applies here to Israelis, since as you can read, Palestinians are saying loud and clear they want to kill us all.

          • Hospitals, schools, and refugee camps have been bombed.

          How many Germans died in WW2? Was it a genocide? Numbers are meaningless, especially when Hamas is using these people as human shields.
          The displacement proves the fact Israel is doing the maximum to save lives of innocents.
          The statements are horrifying, and mostly stupid, but they only prove the stupidity of some (most are pretty meaningless) people in the government.
          The infrastructure destruction was done because it was used for military purposes, again using populations as human shields, and by that breaking the Geneva accords.
          The UN is anti-Israeli by its stucture because of the automatic majority of Muslim countries (just compare the numbers of decisions against Israel vs. Congo, Syria, Iran, Russia, North Korea and any other you want combined).
          It is not a genocide if the other side is not willing to stop trying to kill you, promising to never stop killing you, it is self defense.
          I know you believe they only want peace and I wanted to believe that for longs as well, until the unprovoked genocidal October 7th. You just don’t understand radical Islam, and I hope for you that you will never have to.
