With a new album still looming on the horizon, NOLA sludge metal supergroup Down are revisiting one of their most beloved releases. A newly remastered edition of ‘Down III: Over The Under’ has officially been announced, with Nuclear Blast Records set to roll it out on June 19th.
For this updated version, Eric Koondel (known for his work with Soilwork and Cynic) handled the remastering, giving the 2007 album a refreshed sonic treatment across multiple formats.
The reissue will be available on vinyl, CD, and digital platforms. Notably, both the CD and digital versions will include the bonus track “Invest In Fear”, which was previously limited to European and Japanese editions of the album. This marks the first time the track will be widely accessible on streaming services worldwide.
Beyond that, the release carries added significance for collectors, as it represents the first official U.S. vinyl pressing of the album—something fans have been waiting on for years.
As anticipation continues to build for Down’s long-discussed next record, this reissue offers a timely revisit to a key chapter in the band’s catalog.
